Application modernization

Improve a working website or internal system without throwing away the data, the URLs or the parts staff already trust.

Replace only the part that is failing

An old application is not a failure if people can finish their work. It becomes a problem when it cannot be deployed, cannot be edited, or loses data. Aventa modernises by isolating the failing part: the public site, the database, the integration, or the interface.

We keep content, accounts and URLs that are still valuable. A rewrite is recommended only when the cost of another patch is higher than a planned replacement, and we will say which of those we are looking at.

A typical path

Read the system

Where it is hosted, how a change is released, and which report people still export to Excel.

Protect the data

A backup and a rehearsal before structural changes.

Strangle one workflow

A new interface or API in front of one task, with the old screen still available until the new one is trusted.

Leave a map

What moved, what stayed, and how to roll back.

Related engineering sits in custom software and cloud and DevOps. Public sites are covered under website redesign.

You do not need to share production passwords in the first message. A screen recording of the painful task is often enough to judge the next step.
